Max read philosophy and politics at the University of Warwick before attending law school in central London. He joined Allen & Overy in 2002 as a trainee (spending 6 months on international secondment to A&O’s Amsterdam office) and qualified as an English solicitor in September 2004.
Max joined Ross & Co from A&O in January 2006. He specialises in international trade and shipping litigation and has considerable experience of LMAA arbitrations, the LCIA and English High Court actions. He acts for a wide variety of clients including energy companies, ship owners and charterers, and marine insurers. In addition, Max has represented clients in a number of mediations.
Max has also acted on a number of the firm's European Law cases in the ECJ, the High Court and in the Administrative Court (for cases with a public law aspect, seeking a reference to the ECJ). He has also acted for clients in the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
